Monthly Data Entry
The monthly data entry section is key to having informed leadership. Each month your Sales, Costs of Goods and Total Expenses should be recorded in order to track a complete picture of your businesses health.
There are a few different ways that you can add and update your business’s monthly data.
On this page, you can manually enter and update monthly data and add new years to track. The more years you are tracking, the smarter Profit Navigator will be.
At minimum you will need to enter Sales, Cost of Goods and Total Expenses. By providing these data points for each month of the current year and for at least 2 years prior, our Budget Planning system can create a customized budget designed specifically for your business, our Preset GAAP KPIs system can track your performance to budget. By providing full data including Cash, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, One PR Cycle - Gross (Avg), Monthly PR - Gross, Backlog, Total Assets, Net Worth, Transportation Costs and Shrink, we can customize our Preset GAAP KPIs and Preset Benchmark KPIs to your businesses personality.
You may also enter data by linking Quickbooks using our easy to use Quickbooks importer tools.
Before you begin data entry, please have at least 3 years of financial history available including the current year. To get the minimum benefit from Profit Navigator, simply provide the total Sales, Cost of Goods and Total Expenses for each month for the current year. As you move from field to field in the data entry section, Profit Navigator will automatically save the data you entered. Fill out as much information as you can. If you need assistance you can contact the Help Desk or you may have your Alliance Partner / Business Advisor complete this section with you. You may also take advantage of our Guided Tutorials by clicking the Tutorials link in the menu within Profit Navigator.
To manually add prior year's data, simply click on the button that says "(+) Add New Year". When you have completed entering your data for at least 3 years, you will be ready to create a budget.
